Poultry

Either my birds are a little weird, or I am not very good at taking pictures of chickens.

We have thirty-six chickens, and a handful of Guinea fowl in the brooder. If you want to learn more about them individually, head on over to Meet the Flock (link under construction).

Why raise poultry?

For me, it’s all about letting chickens be chickens.

We raise chickens primarily as egg producers. I love baking, and I love a good over-medium egg in the morning. Nothing is like a fresh egg, laid that day, for a delicious breakfast.

Even though these chickens’ purpose is ultimately to put food on our table, I do not believe that they should lose out on the ability to chicken. To chicken, the verb, means to free range, make silly faces at cameras, come running for treats, be enriched while foraging, and in general live their life to the fullest.

We raise our own chickens so that we know the eggs we eat come from happy, ethically-raised, chickens.

Chicken Sales

Our goal in the next couple of years is to expand our genetics into a good stock of English Orpington birds as our primary egg-laying breed, and White American Bresse for meet birds. Right now we have two lovely Bresse pullets in our grow-out pen.

At this point in time, however, we do not have live chickens for sale.

Egg Sales

We are selling eggs for $3/dozen.

Stop by any time! Our girls free-range, and my partner and I work from home so they are safe and supervised, and we are available to sell their eggs at your convenience.

Please come to the front door and ring for service. If we are available, we will come out to help. Otherwise, you can leave a message. Feel free to give us a call or shoot us a text as well!
